JANET BEATRICE (VanDINE) HARRIS

Graveside services for Janet Beatrice “Jan” Harris, 86, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Sara Phillippi of The Gathering officiating.

Jan Harris passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

She was born Monday, June 7, 1937 in Douglas, Wyoming the daughter of Richard Harold and Beatrice (Steffen) VanDine.  Jan married Robert Allen “Beeb” Harris on October 7, 1953 in Casper, Wyoming.

Jan lives on in her five children, Joyce (Bob) Pickett, Greg (Marcia) Harris, Judy (George) Hazen, Julie (Hap) Pierce, and Richard (Christine) Harris; twelve grandchildren; and many beloved great grandchildren.

Jan will be remembered for many things: her zest for life, impeccable taste in all thing’s food, music, style, and entertainment; her jar full of cookies, fresh baked bread, ginger cremes, and holiday goodies. Those who love her will recall Jan’s infectious laugh, her giant smile and her straight to the point “no bull” communication style. Jan (or Gram), as her grandchildren referred to her, loved her coffee, Perry Mason, sweet treats, and the color red.

When Jan passed away, she was reunited with the love of her life Robert “Beeb” Harris. The two married young, traveled the world together, raised their “young-ins,” and loved one another so deeply as to last a lifetime. Family and friends ache in the wake of losing such a tenacious and vibrant matriarch, but they find peace in knowing that she is no doubt hand in hand with her long-lost love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, on August 15, 1992; mother, Beatrice, on July 14, 1982; and husband, Beeb, on May 27, 1987.
