A graveside service for Jim Peter Hintz, 67, was held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming with Reverend Tom Sterneman officiating.
Jim Hintz passed away peacefully and free from pain on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Jim was born on Thursday, April 9, 1954, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Ernest Rheinhold and Margaret (Adam) Hintz. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from college at Cedarville University, he married Rachel Sterneman on December 27, 1980, in Madison, Indiana. He was a twenty-four-year resident of Chevington Woods, Pickerington, Ohio. Jim retired after his career as a special agent with the Department of Defense. His hobbies included gaining a vast knowledge of World War II military history and aviation history. He also had a theology library collection and authored a book, Take Down.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rachel Hintz of Cheyenne, Wyoming; children, Eden Marie (Tyrel) West of Wheatland and Paul Christof Hintz of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sister, Laura Keller of Martinsville, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Ronan and Iselle West of Wheatland.
Serving as pallbearers were Paul Hintz, Tyrel West, Tim West, Ron Julian, Ruth Julian, and Brandon West.
