John David Crockett, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at his home in Douglas, Wyoming with his loving family at his bedside.
John was born Friday, September 11, 1942 in Sunrise, Wyoming. He was a man of faith, service, and family.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran (Lance Corporal), John served as a Commandant for special weapons loading. He later dedicated 35 years to Reynolds Metals as an industrial brick mason and served his community through the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department and as a street officer in Sandy, Oregon. After retiring to Douglas in 2000, he became a pillar of Trinity Baptist Church.
John was an avid motorcyclist, tech enthusiast, and master gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; children, Teresa Crockett (Don Meyer), David Crockett (Violet), and Elizabeth VanBuskirk (Britt Wilson); brother, Larry Gene Crockett; a large legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Albert Wayne Crockett.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas with Pastors Tom Strock and Connor Lewis officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps Military Funeral Honors and Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8.
