KATHLEEN RUSSELL Obituary

On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Kathleen “Kitty” Russell of Douglas, Wyoming, went to walk with Jesus after a brief illness, she was 73. Kitty was a beloved mother of four children, nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Kitty’s family was her greatest treasure aside from her unwavering love for Jesus Christ.

Kitty was born on Friday, October 31,1947 in Ogden, Utah. She was raised by both sets of parents, Jake and Phyllis Bronson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Bill and Shirley Norris of Ogden, Utah. Although Kitty called Wyoming home for over 50 years, she spoke lovingly about the time she spent as a child in Coeur d’Alene playing in the forest with her siblings and many cousins.

Kitty moved to Douglas in 1972 where she raised her family and became very involved in the church community making invaluable lifelong friendships. Anyone who knew Kitty was touched by her kindness, humor, love, and deep love of Christ. She was the greatest prayer warrior and prayed daily over all her family and friends. She never gave up and held strong to her faith even in the last days of her life. She knew she was God’s girl.

Kitty held a variety of jobs including her own cleaning business, but of all the jobs she held in her lifetime, taking care of her great grandsons and other grandbabies was by far her most treasured.

She was the grand composer of many silly songs and creator of many games such as “Miss Spider” for Asher Skye, her great grandson. She was a jokester and always had some silly little trick to play. You could always tell when she was up to something because of that little gleam in her eyes and her little sneaky grin. She never missed anything her babies were involved in. She was always there. She was the best grandmother, mother, friend, and person you’d ever meet. She would give you the shirt off her back and the food off her plate. She was selfless, God fearing and strong beyond words. She was the backbone of her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Kitty is survived by her husband, Jay Dee Russell of Douglas; brother, Clay Lewis Bronson of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters, Teena Miller of Edgerton, Wyoming and Carrie Ann Loftus of Ogden, Utah; daughter, Kristy Kay and husband, Martin Lee, Ortega, of Douglas; her three sons, James “Jimmy” Alvin Pavey of Douglas, Robert Allen and wife, Christi Marie, Pavey of Casper, Wyoming, and John William Pavey of Douglas; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many cousins, friends, and extended family members.

Kitty was proceeded in death by her parents, Jakie Arthur Bronson, Phyllis Elenor Bronson, Virgil Eugene Norris, and Shirley Ann Norris; brothers, Jakie Lynn Bronson, Craig Hoke Bronson, William Hughes Norris; and sister, Mary Lynn Loftus. And her very best friend and companion “CB” the Border Collie.
