LADENNA "DENNA" MAE (WILLIAMS) SIMS

A Funeral service for LaDenna Mae “Denna” Sims, 55, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Impact Church in Wheatland, Wyoming.

LaDenna Mae Sims entered this world on Sunday, January 21, 1968. She was born to Charles E. Williams Sr. and Judith A. Schaffner and was their sixth and final child.

Denna joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 10, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.

Denna grew up in Wheatland, graduating from high school in 1987. After completing high school, Denna met her first husband, Kenny, with whom she had her oldest child, Ervin Stofflet.  The couple moved to Arizona where they welcomed Ervin into the world. Unfortunately, this marriage was unsuccessful, as Denna met her second husband, Patrick Manning.  Denna and Pat had three children together: Aaron, Joseph, and Hazel Manning. The family of six moved back to Wheatland for a short while before relocating to Texas again.  Pat had a job opportunity that took him to Indiana while Denna stayed in Texas. Denna met her third husband and life partner Earl Sims in Texas. Denna also met her best friend Melissa Shearin while living in Texas during this last stint. Denna and Earl were married in mid 2017, and while happy in Texas, they chose to move back to Wheatland to be closer to Denna's extended family.

Denna had a big heart and worked as a CNA in Wyoming and Texas. Denna loved helping her patients and would go above and beyond to ensure they had everything they may have needed. Denna also enjoyed being a caregiver in her off hours as a CNA, extending her love to local community members who may have needed it, along with family. During her time off work from both jobs, Denna loved spending time with family, playing with her grandkids, and being a life-long fan of the Denver Broncos.

Along Denna’s journey of helping community members, she was passionate about Celebrate Recovery Ministry. This program has helped many people with “Life’s hurts, hangups, and habits” including Denna and her husband. Denna was an active member of the Impact Church in Wheatland and consistently offered to help in any way she could offer.

Denna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Judith; older sister, Loni; older brother, Raymond, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Denna is survived by her husband, Earl Sims; son, Ervin (Brittany) Stofflet of Wheatland; other children, Aaron, Joseph, and Hazel all of Indiana; brother, Chuck (Val) Williams; sister - Terri (Wade) Yeadon of Casper; twin sister, Donna (Ron) Fowler of Wheatland; brother, Taz Williams; and best friend, Melissa of Wheatland. She is survived by cherished grandchildren, Shailee and Jaxson of Wheatland. Denna is also survived by multiple nephews, nieces, cousins, and other friends that are too many to list.

We know that Denna will be up in Heaven playing as much Bingo as possible as that was one of her many passions.
