Laura Hall, “Caboose”, 57, rode off into the sunset and the great beyond on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Laura was born in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, December 14, 1966 to Lawrence and Juanita Hall.
Laura was a beloved figure. She was known for being a second mom to many, always welcoming others into her home. She adored her grandbabies and had a close-knit family of girls. She had a passion for western and cooking shows. She was fun to be around and had a wonderful sense of humor.
As the Queen of Hearts in Wheatland, she was akin to the town saloon—doors flung wide open and as warm and welcome as a shot of whiskey. The Landmark and The Commodore were her stomping grounds where she would wrangle up games of cribbage, take a shot at poker machines, and break in the pool table. If there was a pot of gold to be won, you could bet your boots Laura was all in.
Laura was a versatile individual, contributing her talents to several fields throughout her life. She had notable roles in the gaming industry, provided beauty and care as a nail technician, and served patrons with dedication as a Colorado Mountain Ranger. When she first moved to Wheatland, she worked as a host at The Wheatland Inn and bartended. She worked her first and only fast-food job at the age of 43 at the local Burger King.
Outside of work Laura enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, branding cows with Boxcar, and hanging out in the garage. She was involved in pool leagues and received a couple trophies. Her adventurous spirit and love for games and the outdoors brought joy to those around her.
Laura’s family meant the world to her, a fact made evident through her devotion to her daughters, Angila Hall (Torres) of Sparta, Illinois and Christina Robles of Wheatland. She is also survived by her brothers, Gene and Walt Hall; sister, Ellen Gilbert; and treasured grandchildren, Aliyiana and Isabella (Torres), Kennedy (Burris), and Robyn (Delgado); her cherished pup, Boo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura is reunited with her sister, baby Angela Hall; father, Lawrence Hall; mother, Juanita Hall; uncle, Arthur Stevenson; and the love of her life, Boxcar.
Laura's kind heart and loving nature touched the lives of many, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to invite friends and relatives to join them in graveside service to honor Laura's life on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Wheatland Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at the Commodore Bar.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
