LEO SORG Obituary

Leo George Sorg, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2020, at the Douglas Care Center, Douglas, Wyoming.

Leo was born Thursday, October 28, 1943 in Oakdale, Louisiana, to Ruth (Schweigel) and Earl Sorg.  Leo enjoyed a life of adventure and family.  Leo married the love of his life, Mary Rodriguez, May 9, 1970 and they had just celebrated 50 years.  In 1972 they were blessed with a son, Joe Sorg.  Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing with Joey, as well as racing and building cars.  At 19 years old, during the Vietnam War, Leo willingly joined the United States Navy and became a Seaman.  After returning to civilian life, Leo worked as a mechanic doing what he loved.  He also enjoyed making jewelry that he often gifted to his wife.  Leo was very proud of his son and grandchildren.  When they showed up for a visit, you would see his eyes light up.  He loved to hear about their lives and escapades.

Leo was preceded in death by his father, Earl Sorg; brother, Patrick Sorg; and sister, Cynthia Wagner.

Leo is survived by his wife, Mary Sorg; his son, Joe (Dawn) Sorg; grandchildren, Brandon Sorg, Trevor Sorg, and Madison Sorg, all of Douglas; his mother, Ruth Sorg of Redmond, Oregon; and sister, Suzie (Dennis) Wray of Redmond.
