LOIS IRENE (McCARTNEY) MEINING

Graveside services for Lois Irene Meining, 93, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming with family friend Ed Snell officiating.  A celebration of Life will follow the graveside service at the Senior Center Activity Building, 809 Sixteenth Street, Wheatland.

Lois Meining passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Meadow Wind Assisted Living in Casper, Wyoming with her family by her side.

She was born on Saturday, May 12, 1928 in Denver, Colorado the oldest of three children to Charles and Alma Belle (Price) McCartney.  She spent her early years in Castle Rock, Colorado before the family moved to the Berthoud, Colorado area.  She graduated from Berthoud High School and went to work for the local dentist.

On June 6, 1948, she married Wilfred Meining and to this union five children were born, Alan, Marsha, Peggy, Charla, and Nancy.  She was a stay-at-home mom until all the children were in school.  She went to work for the Berthoud High School as the secretary until they moved to Wheatland.

She was a member of the Wyoming Cowbells and Cottonwood Sewing club.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge, and pinochle.  Lois was a very loving and caring person and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Daryl) Tiltrum of Wheatland, Peggy Meining (friend Gayle Lord) of Casper, Charla (Randy) Gregory of Springdale, Arkansas, and Nancy (Russell) Schoonover of Casper; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Rod (Ginny) McCartney of Loveland, Colorado; sister-in-law, Joan McCartney of Chubbuck, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; niece, nephew, husband, Wilfred Meining on April 1, 2018; and son, Alan Meining.

A memorial to the Platte County Legacy Home, 100 Nineteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201, or to the Caring Edge Home Health and Hospice, 5870 East Second Street, Casper, Wyoming 82609, or to the Meadow Wind Assisted Living, 3955 East Twelfth Street, Casper, Wyoming 82609 would be appreciated by the family.
