LORI PORTER Obituary

Lori Mae Porter, 59, passed away on Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.  She was surrounded by her husband, Steve; children, Jacque and Jason; and daughter-in-law, Ashley.

A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Glenrock High School Football Stadium in Glenrock, Wyoming with Pastor Justin Vold officiating.  In the event there is inclement weather the service will be held in the Glenrock High School Gymnasium.  A reception will follow at the high school commons.

Lori was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on Monday, July 9th, 1962 to Jacqueline and Harold Scheehle, the 5th of seven children. Her family moved to Glenrock in 1979 and she graduated from high school here in 1980. She married Stephen Waldock and her children were born from that marriage.  They divorced in 1991 and Lori married her soulmate, Steve, in 1993.  They had many, many adventures through the years!  She was the manager of the family restaurant, the Fort Diablo, until she became too ill to work last August. She loved working with the public and made many lasting friendships with her customers.  If you were lucky, you would catch a glimpse of her dancing and singing along to her favorite oldies station or Neil Diamond while she worked!

Lori and Steve loved to travel and went many places together.  One of her favorite places was Las Vegas and they made many trips there.  She loved to watch the shows, and she never missed sticking a few dollars in the machines as they went along!  She also loved to fish, especially for walleye, but only as long as they were biting.  Another fun pastime of hers was keeping the slot machine seats warm at the Shoreliner!

Lori’s grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She was so proud of all of them!  She loved getting to spoil them every chance she had and they all loved her dearly!  She also enjoyed spending time with her family as often as possible.  She really believed that family should be the most important people in our lives, and she wasn’t afraid to tell us all that.
Lori was diagnosed with brain cancer last August.  She fought a tremendous battle but God chose to relieve her suffering and take her Home. Her father Harold and brother Jim Scheehle (Bonnie) precede her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; mother, Jacqueline Shank; son, Jason Waldock (Ashley); daughter, Jacque Stoldt (Will); stepson, Lonnie Porter (Tonya); stepdaughter, Jennifer Abrams; brother, Rick Scheehle (Dena); sister, Meri Schofield (Guy); sister, Patti Sigvartsen (Ole); sister, Judi Simons; brother, Tom Scheehle; nine grandchildren;, two great grandchildren; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
