Lorraine Mary (Phillips)Ygnacio, 99, of Douglas, Wyoming passed away at the Douglas Care Center on Sunday, August 20th ,2023 after having lived a rich and full life.
Lorraine was born on Wednesday, May 28th, 1924 in Oakland, California to Manuel Philips and Mary (Dennis) Philips. After graduating high school, Lorraine went on to marry her husband, George Ygnacio. Together they had three children, George Jr. and twins, Linda and Gary.
After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Wyoming to be closer to their daughter, Linda Bruner and her family. Lorraine was well known for her exceptional cooking skills and her competitiveness when playing cards. She had a keen sense of humor and she loved to dance.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sisters, Dorothy and Elaine House; her brother, Raymond; her husband, George; her sons, George and Gary; her daughter, Linda Bruner; and her great grandson, Tyler Nuhn.
She is survived by her sister, Bernice Mayhew of California; her beloved son-in-law, William Bruner, of Douglas; her grandchildren, Diane Nuhn (great grandson, Kyle Nuhn), David Bruner (great grandson, Ryan and great granddaughters, Abigail and Isabelle), Elizabeth Bruner, Craig Bruner (great grandsons, Kyler Hoffman and Sebastian Bruner). Also, her daughter-in-law, Susie Jang; granddaughter, Rebbeca Ygnacio (great grandson, Quentin), granddaughter, Andrea Ygnacio (great grandson, Xander, and granddaughter, Ayla), grandson, Gregory Ygnacio, granddaughter, Heather Ygnacio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Vigil for the Decease will be held at Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas
at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, August 25th, 2023. Funeral liturgy will be held at Sanit James Catholic Church in Douglas on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Lucas Kazimiro Simango as the Celebrant. Graveside services will be at a later date at Osburn Inwood Cemetery in Shingletown, California.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Saint Joseph’s Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1117, Torrington, Wyoming 82240 would be appreciated by the family.
