LOUIS ROBERT PIPER

A funeral service for Louis Robert Piper, 75, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Wheatland Cemetery.

Louis Piper passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home in Wheatland surrounded by his family.

Louis was born on Sunday, February 16, 1947 in Ithaca, New York the son of LR and Christine (Dempsey) Piper.  He graduated from Ithaca High School and joined the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970.  After Vietnam he was stationed at Norton AFB in California, where he met and married Nancy Smith.  After they were married Louis started working for NCR and they decided to move back to Ithaca.  In March of 1978 they moved to Wheatland where he tried cowboying before he started working for Anderson Ford, CH Brown Company, and then opened up Piper Lock Shop and Small Engine Sales and Services.  

Louis enjoyed camping, canoeing, and taking nature pictures.  

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Piper of Wheatland; daughter, Mary Smith (Eric Peoples); son, Loren (Amanda) Piper; sister, Patricia (Dennis) Courtright; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial to the Frist Christian Church, any VA organization, or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
