A funeral service for Louise Marion Shepard, 84, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating.
Louise left this earth on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from her home in Wheatland, with family at her side.
Born in Darr, Nebraska on Wednesday, July 7, 1937 to Jacob and Anna Marie (Cler) Steinmark, both German/Russian immigrants. The family moved to Pine Bluffs, Wyoming in 1940 and in 1949, Jacob was killed in a railroad accident. Louise left school at age twelve to assist supporting her family, and she continued to be a joyfully hard worker until her retirement at age 80.
Louise is survived by two children, Tambra Sue Wilhelm and Willard Jr. “Will”, both of Wheatland. Her loving daughter-in-law, Laura Anne Shepard, and grandson, Branden David “Blain” Maxwell are survivors, along with Tambra's husband, Barry Wilhelm, and grandsons, Nicholas and Aaron Wilhelm, Aaron's wife, Ashley, and Louise's great grandchildren, Madison (7) and Nolan (2) Wilhelm.
Outside of Wheatland, Louise leaves a sister, Katherine Koenig and her three children, Karla Campfield (Gary), Jacob Koenig, and Jeffrey Koenig and their wives. Nieces, Zelma Thompson (Ed), and Vicki Eggli (Doyle) reside in Pine Bluffs, with nephews, Clint and Duane Floy and families in Ault, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Louise's passing was preceded by that of her parents; son, George; ex-husband and friend, Willard Shepard; sisters, Barbara (Darryl) and Berniece (Ross); and nieces, Cindy and Jodi; and nephew, Chris Floy (Laurie) of Laramie. Several nieces and nephews from her previous marriage to Willard have sent their love, and Louise is undoubtedly playing cards or fishing with all of the Shepard clan that has gone before.
Memorials may be made in Louise’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
