Marieanna (Jebe) Oakley, 88, was born Friday, October 25, 1935 in New York City, New York the daughter of Henry and Louise (Marxer) Jebe.
She died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas, Wyoming.
When she was 10 the family moved from New York City to Washougal, Washington where she completed high school and graduated as a salutatorian. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle and graduated with a bachelor of science degree. She married Royce Lowe and helped raise his two sons, Marlin and Dwayne. They moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1969 where she worked for the State of Alaska, Department of Environmental Conservation Sciences Laboratory. In 1975, she divorced and moved to Douglas, Wyoming.
In 1976 she married Richard Clyde Oakley. She was devoted to her church, friends, and family. She was interested in art and in creating it in a variety of mediums. She enjoyed painting and making jewelry. The family has many of her oil paintings to remember her. She enjoyed tracing her parents’ roots, and finding many relatives in Denmark, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, and taking long walks in nature.
Marieanna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on February 20, 2019; mother, Louise (Marxer) Jebe; father, Henry Jebe; step mother, Jennie Cole, and sister, Louise White Abramson.
She is survived by her brother, Henry (Cheryl) Jebe; niece, Eleanor Costanza; grandniece, Luisa Costanza (Tyler) Gladden; and grandnephew, Luca Egidio Egidio Costanza.
The family will deeply miss Marieanna. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Douglas Care Center, Marieanna’s special church friends, and Jarvis and Betty Windom for their kind support and care.
