No funeral service will be held at this time for Marilyn Jean Dickau, 94.
Marilyn Dickau died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home in Casper, Wyoming.
She was born on her mother’s 37th birthday, Saturday, June 2, 1928 in Kewanee, Illinois the daughter of Harley E. and Lovina C. (Usadel) Adams. She was the sixth of seven children. She attended a one room rural school her first eight years of school, and then attended the Kewanee High School, graduating in 1946.
She was married to Hayden W. Schneider in 1947 and was blessed with two step sons, Neal and Jim. Marilyn’s working career was as a full charge bookkeeper.
Marilyn and Hayden moved from Kewanee to Davenport, Iowa and then to Riverside, California, where she worked as office manager for a commercial industrial contractor. Hayden died on July 29, 1966. In 1974 she moved to Denver, Colorado to be near her son, Neal. She worked for a developer, builder, and then a fence contractor. In 1984 she followed Neal to Dallas, Texas and worked at their printing company.
She was married to Dwayne E. Dickau on May 27, 1989 in Dallas and was blessed with four step children, Linda Vigil, Dennis Dickau, Janice Priddy, and LeAna Solomon. They lived at Dwayne’s farm/feedlot northwest of Douglas and she worked for 12 years as the church secretary at the First Baptist Church.
Dwayne died on October 22, 2007 and she moved into Douglas on October 1, 2010 where she resided until the time of her death.
Marilyn is survived by numerous step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four sisters; and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Jason’s Friends Foundation, 340 West B Street, Suite 101, Casper, Wyoming 82601 would be appreciated by the family.
