A graveside service for Maxine Lilias Reed, 94, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey, Wyoming with Reverend Rex Martin officiating.
Maxine Reed passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Platte County Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Maxine was born on Wednesday, August 13, 1930 in Custer County, Nebraska the daughter of Herbert Howard and Lilias Elsie (Livingston) Haefele.
Maxine was part of the 1950 graduating class at the Guernsey High School. She was a proud member of the Almon for 44 years. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, fishing and camping.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Linda) Reed of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Ricky Reed of Wheatland; one grandson, Mark Reed; and sister, Janet Nearing of Fort Laramie, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Reed on June 1, 2015; siblings, William Ray Haefele, Beverly Monger, and Marvin “Bounce” Haefele; and her parents.
Memorials to the Guernsey Senior Center, P.O. Box 765, Guernsey, Wyoming 82214; Alcoholics Anonymous; or to the Lake Guernsey VFW Post 4471, P.O. Box 423, Guernsey, Wyoming 82214 would be appreciated by the family.
