A graveside service for Norman H. Erickson, 96, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud, Colorado with Chaplain Doug Mikkelsen officiating.
Norman H. Erickson of Loveland, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the LeMay Avenue Health and Rehab in Fort Collins, Colorado.
He was born in Wakefield, Nebraska on Sunday, June 28, 1925 to Henry and Josephine (Lindberg) Erickson. The family moved to Alta, Iowa in January of 1940. He graduated from Alta High School in 1943.
Norm joined the United States Navy in January of 1944. While in the Navy he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base, attended United States Navy Electrical School at Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa, and served on the USS Dixie (AD-14) in Leyte, Philippines. He was discharged from the Navy in May of 1946 and returned to Alta, where he worked as an electrician.
In May of 1952, he married Evelyn Ford in Cherokee, Iowa. They had two daughters, Debra and Karen.
He worked as an electrical contractor for 45 years in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Berthoud, Colorado and Wheatland, Wyoming. He enjoyed driving trips all over the western part of the United States, as well as owning and fixing up rental properties.
Norman was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Reed; and brothers, Marlyn Erickson and Earl Erickson.
He is survived by daughter, Debra M. Busch and husband Richard of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two granddaughters, Melissa (Kevin) Brothers and Kimberley (Michael) Williams; great-grandson Benjamin Williams; brother, John (Martha) Erickson; and several nieces and nephews, including Lynn Erickson who cared for him in his final years.
Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church, 1863 South Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
