RAY AMBROS DAUGHERTY

Funeral services for Ray Ambros Daugherty, 40, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Greg Fairbanks of the Casper Pentecostal Church in Casper, Wyoming officiating and Jake Jacobs as the eulogist.  Internment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Douglas Community Club.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Ray Daugherty died Saturday, August 31, 2024 near Douglas due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

He was born Saturday, May 12, 1984 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of Vicki Lynn (Henson) and Tmothy H. Daugherty.  The Daughterty family resided in Douglas until moving to Leadville, Colorado in 1994.  They moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1998, and Ray graduated from the Natrona County High School in 2003.  Ray started working for Cardinal Masonry in Casper, and in 2008 he began working for True Drilling, He had worked his way up from a tool pusher to a drilling superintendent which he was holding at the time of his death. 

He was married to Andrea Carubie on June 21, 2008 in Casper.

Ray was very artistic and had many interests including blacksmithing, leather tooling, and wood carving.  He enjoyed music, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. 

He is survived by the mother of their children, Andrea Daugherty, of Edmond, Oklahoma; parents, Vicki Henson Hull of Edmond and Tim (Deborah) Daugherty of Gillette, Wyoming; children, Dakota Daugherty, Cash Daugherty, Jace Daugherty, Isabel Daugherty, and Brinn Thorpe all of Edmond; siblings, Jacqueline (Grant) LaDuke of Missouri City, Texas, Kateri (Jordan) Fears of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Daniel (Brittany) Daugherty of Edmond; paternal grandmother, Avis Johnson of Gillette; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Ray was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Isabel Henson on September 17, 2008 and Pete Henson on October 25, 2008 and paternal grandparents, Sandra Daugherty on December 27, 2006 and Roy Daugherty on January 22, 2020.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jace Daugherty, Cash Daugherty, Daniel Daugherty, Greg Ahrens, Jake Jacobs, and Chris Anderson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of Ray’s family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Motorcycle Safety Foundation, 2 Jenner, Suite 150 Irvine, California 92618 would be appreciated by the family.
