RHONDA ROY Obituary

A Celebration of Life service for Rhonda Kaye Roy, 56, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 3rd, 2022 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming.  Inurnment will be at the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Rhonda Kaye (Ferrell) Roy passed away at her home in Douglas, Wyoming with her husband, Arthur of nearly 31 years at her side.

Rhonda was born Friday, November 5th, 1965 Bisbee, Arizona, the daughter of William Rudolph Ferrell “KY” and Betty June Ray.

Her early years were spent in Bisbee where her father was employed in the copper mines. In 1975 the family relocated to Douglas, Wy. Her father was experienced in coal and copper mining and began a new career mining uranium. Her mother worked for Warren Goodrich at the Pump-n-Pak for several years and then Douglas Exploration where she continued employment until retirement.

Rhonda completed her education, graduating with the class of 1983 from Douglas High School. She was active in swimming, volleyball and gymnastics.

Shortly after graduation she married Timothy H. Morgan. To this union three children were born, Patrick Ryan and twins Ashley Rae and Andrew Paul. Rhonda and Tim later divorced. Rhonda married Arthur Paul Roy on August 30th, 1991 and joined together her three kids and Arthur’s four children. Together they spent the next 30 years raising kids and grandkids.

Arthur worked 30 plus years for Hubbard Feeds as a Territory marketing manager covering territories encompassing all of Wyoming, Colorado, and parts of South Dakota, Montana and Nebraska and finally retiring in 2009.

Rhonda also worked for Warren Goodrich at Pump-n-Pak, for her sister Rita at Clementines, for several years she worked alongside a lifelong friend, Brit Lawrence at Dave’s home oxygen. She continued to work hard and play hard until her health made it mandatory, she took on the role solely at home. In her early years she made travel dreams come true and took trips to Reno, Lake Tahoe, Seattle, New Orleans and finally a dream vacation to the Bahamas.

A cabin in the mountains was always a dream and was a work in progress since 1992, with all the work completed solely by family members. She had many happy memories of her times at “The Cabin”.

Rhonda spent the next years happily chasing kids and grandkids. She chased them here, there and everywhere. Her grandchildren were her entire universe. Rhonda will be greatly missed but have peace in knowing she is finally resting in peace free of all health problems and pain free.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Arthur Roy, of Douglas; mother, Betty Ferrell, of Lusk, Wyoming; children, Patrick Morgan of Douglas, Ashley (Ryan) Hinckley of Douglas, Andrew (Shea) Morgan of Douglas, Sean (Jennifer) Hopkins of Mitchell, Nebraska, Tye (Shelly) Roy of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Amanda Roy of Casper, Wyoming; sisters, Rita (John) Connachan of Douglas, Nancy (Dave) Blaize of Glenrock, Wyoming, and Alicia “Lish” (Larry) Murphy of Lusk; and grandchildren, Kayelynn, Easton, Lexi, Bodey, Tucker, Jaxson, Tanner, Archer, Sawyer, Hunter, Aaden, Rayne, Josh, Justin, Courtland, and Stormy.

She was preceded in death by her father, KY, March 9, 1992; brothers, Norman Ferrell and William Wesley “Wes” Ferrell; son, Travis Roy; and infant baby Hinckley.
