A celebration of life for Richard Carey Gilliam, 37, will be held at 12:00 noon to 4:00 P.M at the Wheatland Moose Lodge in Wheatland, Wyoming on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Cremation has taken place.
Rich Gilliam passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home in Wheatland.
Rich was born on Thursday, August 9, 1984, the son of Robyn Huber.
This young man left Earth after spending a wonderful life with his children, family and friends camping, skateboarding, playing guitar, fishing, snowboarding, and just relaxing.
While Rich’s mom went to college, he spent a great deal of time with his grandparents, Donna and the late Charles Huber. Rich developed skills that in later life took him to numerous jobs. If someone needed help, he would say, “What time and what tools?” He loved art (the only thing about school he really liked) but had a head full of facts. Because of his deep love for his grandparents, he helped them remodeling their house and adding his artistic flair to the project. He and Grandmother Donna did many extended projects that enhanced his eye for the art and made him a great carpenter and remodeler. From birth and continuing throughout his life, this relationship resulted in the close, loving bond between grandson and grandparents.
Left to mourn are his “princess tomboy,” Rainy Jade Gilliam of Cheyenne, Wyoming, six-year-old son, Kyuss Charles Gilliam of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; his mother, Robyn Huber; grandmothers, Donna Huber of Wheatland and Nelda Gilliam of Saint Louis, Missouri; his best friend, Heather Huckfeldt; uncle, Steve Huber; aunt, Josephine Huber Beck; cousin-sister, Heidi Ashland Rentfro; niece, Kaden Rentfro; his “brothers”, Ricky Pierce, Marshall Sanderson, Bobby Hooker, and all his friends. This great prankster “loved us all.”
Donations may be sent to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in Richard Gilliam’s name.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
