RICHARD DANDELL STINSON

A memorial service for Richard Dandell Stinson, 86, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Newell Fire Hall, 2933 Esterbrook Road, Esterbrook, Wyoming with Pastor Kirby Kudlak officiating.

Richard passed away at his home on the mountain near Esterbrook, Sunday, June 6, 2021. 

Richard was born Sunday, December 23, 1934 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of John M. and Lillian Elizabeth (Dandell) Stinson.

He was a loving father and grandpa, a great friend, and neighbor.  Richard was always the one to call if you needed help.  He was a man of many traits such as ranching, breaking horses, guiding hunters, sawmilling, plumber, carpenter, heavy equipment operator, mechanic, fire fighter, police officer, and owner of the Esterbrook Lodge.  When he sold the lodge and “retired”, he love helping the local ranchers move, work, and salt their cattle, fix fence, and irrigate.

Richard was a former member of the ECA and Converse County Rural Fire Department.

He is now free from pain and has been reunited with the love of his life, Kay.  He was a very special man and was loved by many.  He will be missed dearly, but is forever in our hearts. 

Richard is survived by his children, Wanda Stinson of Casper, Wyoming, Craig Stinson of Casper, Andy (Sharon) Stinson of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Becky (Mark) Alexander of Douglas; sister, Mary Lou Luptak of Billings, Montana; brother, Raymond Stinson of Casper; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John, on July 10, 1958; mother, Lillian, on May 16, 1982; seven siblings; and a very special lady, Kay Sanders.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of his family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Converse County Rural Fire Department, P.O. Box 766, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
