ROBERT LELAND SCHWARTZKOPF

Funeral services for Robert Leland Schwartzkopf, 93, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Frontier Baptist Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Tim Ricker officiating.  Inurnment will be the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Bob Schwartzkopf died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home in Douglas of natural causes.

Robert Schwartzkopf was born Thursday, August 1, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the son of Alexander and Katherine (Schwarzkopf) Schwartzkopf

Bob was raised and educated in Huntley, Wyoming and graduated from the Huntley High School in 1948.  He was married to Helen Spencer in December, 1948 and they were divorced in 1971.  Bob than married Janice Carol Johnson in November, 1973.  Bob’s work through the years were being a farmer, working in road construction, and ran the bowling alley in Douglas until his retirement I 2015. 

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in his yard and garden, and restoring old tractors.

Bob is survived by children, Ruthie (Gary) Clothier of Aiken, South Carolina, Sally Brunkow of Gering, Nebraska, and Robert A. (Erin) Schwartzkopf of Douglas; brother, Roland (Dottie) Schwartzkopf of Shelbyville, Indiana; longtime companion, Jeanne Sherman, of Douglas; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice, on March 11, 2010; son, Harold Scchwartzkopf; brothers, Richard and Howard Schwartzkopf; and sisters, Helena Moine, Clarice Campbell, Bea Watson, and Eleanor Hart.    

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central Wyoming Hospice Home, 319 South Wilson Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 or Frontier Baptist Church, 2345 East Richards Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of his many friends.
