ROGER SHORT Obituary

Roger Allen Short, 67, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home near Wheatland, Wyoming of natural causes. 

Roger Short was born Sunday, October 19, 1952 the son of Kenneth Merle and Irene (Weinmeister) Short in Wheatland.

Roger was reared and educated in Wheatland and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1971. 

Roger worked for Bison Pete raising Buffalo.  He then went to work for Jim Morgan on ranches for several years.  Roger then worked for Basin Electric building the Power Plant and the dam.  After the plant was finished he went to work for them in the coal yard and eventually he was the lead equipment supervisor.  He retired from Basin Electric in 2013.

Roger helped take care of his parents for many years.  He would stop after work every day to make sure they were ok. 

Some of his hobbies included hunting and fishing.  He could hardly wait until fall so he could go hunting.  He loved hunting with his brother, Steve, Mitch Stenkamp, and Leonard Geringer.

He is survived by his brother, Steve (Zella) Short of Blackhawk, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Lynne Short of Glenrock; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Mitch) Stenkamp of Elizabeth, Colorado, Ryan Short of Blackhawk, great-nephew, Braxton Short, Ashley (Jeremey) Littleton of Douglas, Wyoming, Jason Short of Casper, Wyoming, and Matthew Short of Glenrock; and great-nephew, William Littleton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Short on July 2, 2015; mother, Irene Short on September 16, 2009; brother, Dennis Short on May 2, 2016; and special Uncle Owen Short.

A memorial to the Roger Short Memorial Fund in care of Steve and Zella Short, 6800 Seeaire Street, Blackhawk, South Dakota 57718 would be appreciated by the family.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
