Ruby Louise Lockman, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Platte County Legacy Home.
Ruby was born on Monday, May 25, 1942 in Torrington, Wyoming, the daughter of Cecil and Eleanor (Schurr) Murphy.
Ruby was reared and educated in Wheatland and received her general equivalency degree in Torrington. She graduated from University of Wyoming with her associates degree in business in the 1990s. She worked as the food supervisor at the hospital and then worked for the city in the billing department until her retirement. Ruby taught bible school and bible study and had a hobby farm where she raised cows and rabbits. Her hobbies included cross stitch, reading, and coloring. She always enjoyed having family around, and she never missed a birthday.
Ruby is survived by her children, Donald (Becky) Quick, Daleda (Sherman) Quick-Brede, Carl (Sandy) Quick, and stepson, Rodney Lockman; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Lockman and sisters, Darlene Lampman and Donna Griffith.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
