Robert C. Herk

Robert C. Herk, 84, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on Sunday, June 4, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Leonard and Emily (Widenski) Herk.

Robert was reared and educated in Cudahy, Wisconsin, and graduated from Cudahy High School.  He went on to college at Marquette University and graduated with a Masters in Electrical Engineering.  He married Joanne in 1962 in Milwaukee.  They moved to Colorado for work.  Together they had two sons, Bryan in 1966 and Brandon in 1970.  Robert retired in 2004 from the Lockheed Martin.

Some of his hobbies included wood working, fishing, vacationing in the Keys, traveling, following his grandchildren which he loved being around, and looked forward to cocktail hour.

He is survived by his sons, Bryan (Jenny) Herk and Brandon (Brooke) Herk; brother, Leonard (Irene) Herk; grandchildren, Carrie (Tyler) Wilson, Caelan Herk, Cian Herk, T.J. Jones, Dakota Payton, and Marcus (Sydney) Payton; and great grandsons, Madden and Marley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Herk, on December 1, 2023, and his parents.
