S. CAROL GIBSON Obituary

Carol Gibson, 68, departed this earth on Thursday, December 16th, 2021, for her coffee date with her heavenly bestie, Jesus. Carol was a pint-sized bundle of ambition born to Roger Cardin Shaw and Georgie Ida Barkley on Tuesday, January 20th, in Mountainair, New Mexico.

Carol never let anything stand in her way she even sang loud and proud in church like a frog in a five-gallon bucket, but now that she is in Heaven, we are sure she has joined the Angels choir with perfect pitch. She was the middle and most responsible of five children and her fathers’ pride and joy.

In December of 1973 she met the love her of life, Jerry Leon Gibson. They were married on April 20th, 1974, and from that day on Carol treated Jerry like a God and offered him burnt offerings every night for dinner much to his chagrin. In the early 1980’s Carol started working as a baker in the school cafeteria, from that time on she was loved in the community for her epic cinnamon rolls. Needless, to say the burnt offerings continued at home because she believed that a steak needed to resemble a lump of charcoal.

Together Jerry and Carol raised their three children with love, grace, and a pretty big paddle mostly for Stephany (we all know why). Carol had a special love for her only son, Nathon, she never made him clean house or do the dishes she always told him to go outside and play. Carol was really proud of her golden child and straight A student, Jeri Lynn, who is most like her mother.

After several years of raising their own children, Jerry and Carol raised their granddaughter Jessika Lynn and grandma spoiled her even more than Nathon.

Over the years Jerry and Carol opened their home to many people in the community. Carol was a God-fearing patriotic gun toting granny that believed in the 2nd amendment with every fiber of her being, which made her especially proud of the men and women that served our country. Shane Brow was one of those men and he was like a 2nd son to her. Carol was a grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and each and every one of them were very special to her.

Carol was beloved by many, and she never met a stranger that she wouldn’t talk to or feed. She gave hugs that felt like pure love in human form. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Her service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church1424 Griffith Way, Douglas, Wyoming on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, at 3:00 in the afternoon.
