SCOTT BARBER Obituary

William Scott Barber, 60, was born in Casper, Wyoming Saturday, February 16, 1963 to Willam Edgar “Bill” and Edna Ann (Werner) Barber.  He passed away in Lone Tree, Colorado on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.  He grew up on the Barber Ranch west of Douglas and attended rural and Douglas schools, graduating from Douglas High School in 1981.  Scott continued his education at Carroll College in Helena, Montana before returning to the ranch.

Because Scott was a city kid born into an outdoor life, he moved to Commerce City, Colorado where he worked and enjoyed the big city life.  He later moved back to the ranch to help his parents and remained there for a few years after his parents passed away.

Once again, he moved back to his beloved city of Denver and remained there until his passing.

Scott was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Douglas, and a past member of the Converse County Library Board.  During his time on the library board, the library built and moved into its beautiful new building in downtown Douglas. Scott commented several times that he felt this was one of his great projects and accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Barber-Gilbert on April 9, 1994; his parents, Edna on May 23, 2008 and Bill on November 3, 2008; and his grandparents, Otis and Lila Barber and Edmund and Margaret (Maggie) Werner.
