Seth was born on Saturday, May 3, 1941 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Anna (Bellone) Karlzen. As a boy growing up, he was always working. He had a variety of jobs, including working at a circus, at a funeral home, and running errands for the girls on the Rockford Peaches Women's Professional Baseball team. His family moved to Lafayette, Indiana where he met and married his wife, Ginger, of fifty-two years. Seth had many hobbies including flying remote-controlled planes, riding motorcycles, and fishing at the family cottage. One of his passions was his love of music. He entertained his family with his Elvis impressions on the piano and a rousing edition of Adam's Pants, to the delight of his family. He taught himself to play the guitar and fiddle. He loved playing with his group for the nursing home and other functions. Seth was a member of the Torrington Fiddlers Association and very much enjoyed playing and entertaining at Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Throughout his lifetime Seth was very generous, giving to several charities.
