Sheryl Lynn (Snyder) Tipton, age 68, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Casper Wyoming.
Sheryl was born Tuesday, October 25, 1955 in Lincoln, Nebraska and was raised in Lincoln where she met her husband Don at a disco. Don said it was love at first sight. The pair started dating and eventually got married roughly 18 months later. Not long after came their two daughters. Due to Don’s work with the railroad, their family of four packed up their lives, and relocated to Douglas, Wyoming.
Sheryl dedicated 20 years of her working career to the Converse County School District as a food service worker, where she was beloved by her colleagues and the many students she served daily. Her commitment to her community extended into her spiritual life, as she was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Douglas. Sheryl had many hobbies over the years, some of which included painting, drawing, and sewing. Her faith was a significant part of her life.
Sheryl was also known for her funny and corny sense of humor and the joy she got from dancing around the house. Sheryl also loved to laugh and spend time with her family. Sheryl had a deep love for her two dogs, Rico and Ozzy. She took immense pride in celebrating her seven grandchildren's accomplishments, particularly in their sports.
Sheryl spent many years enriching the lives of those around her through her work, personal interests, and devotion to her family and faith.
She leaves behind a loving husband, Donald of 45 years; her two daughters, April (Ikye) Okafor and Nicole (Jago) Dahl; her seven grandchildren, Adaora, Adaife, Ifeanaka, and Iyke Okafor and Grayci, Calie, and Natally Dahl; as well as her six siblings, Julie Whitmore, Joyce Young, Joe Snyder, Alan Snyder, Mike Snyder, and Larry Snyder; and her stepmom Berdena Snyder.
Sheryl is preceded in her death by her parents, Juanita Jean (Bare) Snyder on June 6, 1967 and Joseph Eugene Snyder on January 28, 2008, as well as her cherished dog, Scooter.
