Dick Fulton passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas after a long illness.  He was surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born Saturday, January 4, 1941 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of Stuart Theodore and Clara Esther (Johnson) Fulton.

Dick graduated from Douglas High School in 1959.  After graduation he married Ruth A. Lohrer.  He attended Northrup Institute of Technology in Inglewood, California and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  He held positions with Hughes Aircraft, Northrup, Autonetics, North American Aviation and lastly TRW, Inc. in Redondo Beach, California.  Just prior to his career with TRW, he started a company designing and manufacturing equipment for the emerging solar energy industry, eventually selling the business to one of his major suppliers.  While at TRW, he enjoyed working on defense and communication satellites and various vehicles and systems, including the Apollo Program.  He left that industry to buy a small ranch southwest of Douglas for the next 14 years when family health issues required leaving the ranch and retiring into Douglas.

He loved his faith and Saint James Catholic Church.  He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Council 6558 and a 4th Degree Knight of Assembly 1942.  His Brother Knights were pallbearers at his funeral liturgy.

Accomplishments of Dick and his Brother Knights over the years included many pancake breakfasts, Lenten fish fries, continuing education scholarships, operating the Right To Life Booth at Wyoming State Fair, and many other community service projects in the Douglas area.

Those who knew him will miss his ‘first in last out’ dedication, his positive, caring, happy and generous spirit.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Fulton, of  Douglas; children, Debora Fulton Michael S. (Patricia) Fulton both of Douglas, Steven J. (Tina) Fulton of Renton, Washington; and Susan Foley of Saratoga, Wyoming; sister, Barbara A. (Art) Taylor of Nipomo, California; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins..

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Stuart, on December 1, 2004; mother, Clara, on January 7, 2000; and sister, Janet L. Negrete, on January 24, 2004.
