STEVE ORSZULAK Obituary

A dedicated husband, dad, grandpa, and friend, Steve will be remembered for his sparkling eyes, never knowing a stranger, his love of fly fishing, his pit master skills, and loving his family more than anything.

Steve Orszulak was born May 22, 1959 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Stephen and Elsie (Blunk) Orszulak.  They lived in Guernsey, Wyoming and later moved to Glenrock, Wyoming where Steve graduated high school. Steve worked for BNSF railroad for 41 years.

Steve met the love of his life, Tammy, in Guernsey, in 1980.  While they were dating, Steve would often stop by her house, open the fridge and the pantry, declare no one could live off of what he found, and proceed to stock up so she was well taken care of until his next visit. It was one of their favorite stories to share of their early life together. They were married on October 26, 1985. To this day, no one knows how she convinced him to marry him during hunting season.

Steve’s pride and joy were his two boys, Cole and Cord. Steve took the family on mountain adventures; hunting, fishing, and camping every chance he got. More than a few tall tales were shared afterwards.

Though he loved fly fishing, hunting, and being the undisputed pit master of the family, Steve’s favorite role was being a grandpa. The day each grandkid was born, he bought them their first fly rod and reel before he ever even met them. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Grandpa Steve, teaching them how to fly fish, how to eat like kings and queens, how to love, and how to not take life too seriously.

We’ll always imagine him saying, “if you can’t be good, be good at it” one more time.  We couldn’t have asked for a better husband, dad, grandpa or friend, and will miss Steve every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; a baby brother; and sister-in-law, Nadine.

He is survived by his brother, Ron; sisters, Phyllis McCash (Jim), Millie Oliver (Wayne), and Shirley Orszulak; beloved wife, Tammy; sons, Cole (Brenda) and Cord (Katie); grandkids, Gerik, Jay, Arlyn, Harper, Cole Jr. and Blayne; a large extended family and numerous friends he considered family.

A celebration in Steve’s memory will be held at Ben’s Bar in Guernsey, on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
