Steve “Brody” Brodine, 71, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Wheatland, Wyoming, after a short but valiant fight with brain cancer.
A Celebration of Life is planned for late summer, in Wheatland.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Andrew Brodine and Estelle Ruth Kuntzelman; brothers, Lauren, Merle, and Kyle; sister, Sherilyn; and grandson, Dallin.
He is survived by brothers, Jerry and Jon; sister, Becky; three children; and nine grandchildren.
Steve grew up in a musical family. As a youngster, he received high marks in choir and taught himself to play guitar. He enjoyed music throughout his life and shared that love with family and those closest to him.
After graduating from Sheridan High School, he met and married Melba Shaul and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he learned the trades of ship fitter and welding. After an honorable discharge, Steve and Melba settled down in Pinedale, Wyoming, with firstborn, Joe. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Angey, they moved to Lyman, Wyoming, where they resided at the time they welcomed their third child, Drew. The couple later divorced.
Steve was a skilled welder. He had a variety of jobs over the years in Wyoming, Idaho, and Colorado. A true lover of nature, he spent as much time as he could in the outdoors hunting, fishing, taking photos, and riding his “bike” (Harley Davidson).
His love of quiet nature and open spaces would eventually bring him “home” to Wyoming. He requested his ashes be spread over the Wind River Mountain Range. A small intimate ceremony will be held in his honor, at that time.
The family requests no flower instead they would love to have you donate to the Dallin Gunter Pay if Forward Account located at the Platte Valley Bank, 200 Sixteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201. This account is used to help aid for children who are sick and their families.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
