Susanna Esquibel Pino went to meet her Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 after a long battle of illness at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

Susanna was born Friday, August 4, 1933 in El Morphy, New Mexico the daughter of Rosendo and Corina (Serna) Esquibel.  When she was at the young age of 13, her dad passed away leaving her with the responsibility of caring for her mother and the ranch.  Susanna had to grow up very fast.  She had her black gilding horse, which she rode bareback to go up o the Pecos Wilderness to check cows.  She could ride bareback better than any man in a saddle.

She loved her God, country, family, and especially her New Mexico Spanish heritage.

After several years of moving around with her mother, they settled in Wyoming.  On August 5, 1952 she married the love of her life, Marcelino Pino in Mora, New Mexico and to this union four children were born, John, Louise, Doris, and Virginia.  They moved to Sunrise, Wyoming where Marcelino took on a job at CF&I Mine.

Susanna was never afraid or turned down any kind of work.  She helped others in learning how to do anything and would share so much knowledge and wisdom.  Susanna impacted so many young lives and she never knew a stranger.

She loved hunting and fishing, and shot her first Wyoming elk at 70 years old.

Susanna was always tinkering or fixing something.

She is survived by her children, John David (Charlene) Pino, Louise Ann Cora (Tony) Padilla, Doris Jean (Louis) Metz, and Virginia May Oliver; and was blessed with eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

Susanna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcelino; siblings, Gertrude Esquibel, Juan Canuto Esquibel, Angela Negrette, Maximio Esquibel, Jose Esquibel, Adriano Esquibel, Sanida Martinez, and Frank Esquibel; and great grandson, Dylan Arellano.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Reid, Kade Lehner, Bryce Lehner, Gabriel Martinez, Art Oliver, and Ron Lockhart.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are all her granchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and very special nephew, Larry Esquibel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church or Lake Guernsey VFW Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
