Terry Lee Jones, 69, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his home near Wheatland of natural causes.
Terry Jones was born Thursday, June 29, 1950 in Wayne, Nebraska the son of Theodore Wendel and Wilma Louise (Meiesner) Jones.
Terry was raised and educated in Sidney, Nebraska and Medicine Bow, Wyoming. In 1968 he graduated from Medicine Bow High School. Terry was in the second class at Wyoming Tech in 1968 before entering into the United States Army. He served in the United States Army from September 12, 1969 to September 1, 1975. He served for two and half years on active duty.
Terry was a tank mechanic and automotive technician from Wyoming Tech. Terry worked for Ford Tractor and Pathfinder Mine in Casper, Wyoming. He moved to Wisconsin working for a custom farming operation. He then moved to Florida and managed Circle K for fifteen years. He retired to Muddy Gap and Wheatland. He enjoyed guns and leather working.
He is survived by his son, Terry Lee “TJ” Jones Jr. of Punta Gorda, Florida; brother, Wendel Jones of Wheatland; step-sister, Jackie Dygert; nieces, Kim Britton and Kristi (Jamie) Rietz; nephew, Vern (Karen) Jones; and great nieces and nephews, Layne Eike (Hannah Gorman), Jhett Eike (Dakota Graysay), Brittony Rietz, Kayla Jones, and Kasey Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Ann Jones.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 27 at the Wheatland Cemetery with Jim Kittell officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Laramie Peak VFW Post #3558 and Ora Call American Legion Post #10.
