VIRGINIA B. (BOYD) ANDERSON

A funeral service for Virginia B. Anderson, 81, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the United Church of Christ in Wheatland, Wyoming with The Reverend Lori Modesitt and The Reverend Jill Zimmerschied officiating. A reception will be held at the 10th Street Social, 812 10th Street, Wheatland, Wyoming.

Virginia Anderson passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at her home in Wheatland surrounded by her family.

Virginia was born on Thursday, July 3, 1941 the daughter of William I. and Ruth L. (Lunde) Boyd in Wheatland, Wyoming.  She was raised on the family ranch southwest of Wheatland and attended grade school there along with her brother.

School vacations and summers were spent under the watchful and loving eyes of her grandparents, Adam and Margaret Boyd and Uncle Frank, who taught her to work, play, laugh, and love.

She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1959 and was later married to Charles Woolsey, and to this union two children were born, Cheryl and Scott.  They later divorced. 

She later married Fred Phifer and obtained four step-sons.  They were later divorced, but she and the boys remained close.

Virginia and Keith Anderson began a life together that was very rewarding to her.  Keith and Virginia truly enjoyed each other, worked and played, lived and loved and truly enjoyed life together.  Colter and Kellie were step-children from this marriage. 

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Bruce) Deuel; daughter-in-law, Mary Woolsey; step-children, Wood (Linda), Brook (Judy), Sky (Jan), Star, Colter (Deb), and Kellie (Craig); grandchildren, Adam Woolsey, Blake Woolsey, Boyd (Sarah Mott) Deuel, Ben Deuel, and Brandon Deuel; several step-grandchildren; nieces, Staci Wiley and Dawn Frager; and nephew, Tyler Boyd.

A memorial to the All Saint’s Episcopal Church or to the University of Wyoming College of Engineering would be appreciated by the family.
