A celebration of life and memorial service for Walter B. Briggs, 79, will be held in
COLORADO Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the VFW Post #9565, 11700 Wadsworth Blvd, Broomfield, Colorado 80020 and
WYOMING Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Lake Guernsey VFW Post 4471 Hall, 42 South Idaho Avenue in Guernsey, Wyoming from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Walter Briggs passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
Walter was born in Rockford, Illinois on Wednesday, March 12, 1941. The family moved to Commerce City, Colorado in 1955, he graduated from Adams City High School in 1958. He went right into the family business of driving truck, long-haul.
Walter enjoyed South Texas runs while trucking. Then in the 1992 Walt and Susie bought 80 acres in northern Colorado and farmed it till 1999. Then enjoyed owning the Bunkhouse Motel in Guernsey till 2005 when he retired and spent his winter months with his wife as snowbirds traveling from Guernsey to the South Texas valley where they have a winter home.
Walter is preceded by his mother, Lillie L. Briggs; father, Troy A Briggs; sister, Juanelle Wade; and brother, Eugene Briggs.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Susie Briggs of 46 years. They were married in Cheyenne, Wyoming on April 3, 1974.
Walter is lovingly remembered by his children, Colleen Gregg of Guernsey, Denise Jones of Thornton, Colorado, and Tammy Stumbo of Cheyenne, Wyoming. His grandchildren, Amber Cheesemen, Branden Stumbo, Cory Stumbo, Cheyenne Gregg, Torre Jones, Aspen Gregg, and Ryle Jones; and his four great grandchildren.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
