Obituary

A funeral service for William Fleming “Pinky” Glenn, 85, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Chugwater Valley Church in Chugwater, Wyoming with Pastor Mike Baber officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Laramie Peak VFW Post #3558 and Ora Call American Legion Post #10. A private family inurnment will be held at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming at a later date.  There will be a gathering for friends and family at the Stampede Saloon following the service.  The family requests you come dressed comfortable.

Pinky Glenn passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home in Chugwater of natural causes.

The son of William Flemmens and Della Pearl (Myers) Glenn, was born on Saturday, July 14, 1934, in Sparta, Illinois. Pinky was raised on a farm near Sparta, the twelfth of thirteen children. After high school, he was drafted by the United States Army. Later he worked at the Buster Brown Ranch in Colorado until he got a job with the Colorado State Highway Department. He retired May 15, 1990.

Pinky was married to Irene D. Cotton with whom he spent “the best seven years of his life” until her death on November 22, 2007.

Pinky was a man with a kind heart that helped everybody, loved kids, and played the piano, organ, and accordion by ear. He enjoyed spending time every day at the Chugwater Senior Center.   

Pinky is survived by his brother, Benjamin Vernon (Florence) Glenn Sr.; nephew, Benjamin Vernon (Janilyn) Glenn Jr.; cousin, Frances Myers; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Glenn in 1962; mother, Della Glenn in 1953; wife, Irene, on November 22, 2007; and eleven siblings.

Memorials may be made to the Chugwater Community Center, in care of the Town of Chugwater, P.O. Box 243, Chugwater, Wyoming 82210.
