Funeral Services for Geraldine Jean “Jeri” Berg, 91, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 5, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Robin Riley  and Pastor Ron Cobb officiating. Inurnment will be at the Wheatland Cemetery.
Jeri Berg passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
Jeri was born on Thursday, January 20, 1927 in Wheatland, the daughter of Howard Benjamin and Mary Grace (Cobb) Moss. She was raised and educated in Crawford, Nebraska and later attended beauty school in Hastings, Nebraska.
Jeri married Raymond Edward “Dutch” Berg on July 22, 1947 in Chadron, Nebraska. They moved to Wheatland in 1952 where they ran Dutch’s Sunshine Market until 1968. From 1968 to 1986, they owned and operated the Gamble’s store. Jeri helped at the store and took care of her family. Dutch and Jeri were inaugural members of the Country Club.  Jeri loved playing bridge, golf, and entertaining friends. She attended a Tuesday coffee group, Tuesday and Thursday bridge club, and Friday night dinner with her special friends. Jeri was a classy and beautiful woman who deeply loved her family and was their strongest advocate. Spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren brought love and laughter to Jeri’s house. Taking drives, reading, growing flowers, eating sweets, spending time with the girls and trying new cooking experiments also gave Jeri joy.
Jeri was preceded in death by her husband Raymond “Dutch” Berg on January 10, 2012; sister, Virgil Carnahan; brothers, Red Moss and Don Moss.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Nita) Berg of Lander, Wyoming, Phyllis (Herb) Johnson of Glendo, Wyoming, David Berg of Wheatland, Dan (Tammy) Berg of Wheatland, and Tom (Tracy) Berg of Cheyenne, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, Sister-in-law Diana Moss, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as urn bearer will be Herb Johnson.

Dear Phyllis and other family members. Just recently I had ran into Jeri at shopko always nicely attired and full of life. I worked for Jeri and Dutch at their downtown Gambles store about 1966-68 which is south of the current taxidermy which used to be Thornes Rexall drugs. I am glad she had a long life...I will miss seeing her around town.

So sad to hear of Jerri's passing. What memories I have of her and Dutch. For years their store was the only place Daddy would buy meat because Dutch cut everything himself. We attended many baseball games and Daddy and Dutch took turns treating the team to Tastee Freeze. The last time I saw Jerri was at a funeral at the cemetery. She was decked out in a gorgeous leather jacket and looked awesome. Always reminded me of Debbie Reynolds. Hugs to each of you!
